Hi, Ronee here. I hope you’re having a great week, my hotel-loving friends! If you’re new to The Hotel Shortlist, this is where I share character-filled, design-led hotels around the world. From one hotel enthusiast to another, I sincerely hope you’ll consider sticking around!

I know, I know. You’ve had it with Barbiecore.

You’re not about those cheesy, over-the-top, pink everything interiors that scream bachelorette party.

And trust me, I'm not either.

But hear me out: pink can be classy. And I’m here to prove it.

Before we get to that though, let me welcome you back to the third installment of my not at all official series on hotels by color. If you missed the first two, 5 Red Hotels Perfect for Design Lovers and 6 Hotels to Book if You Love the Color Green, definitely check those out.

Now back to pink. Remember, I’m not just rounding up every pink hotel that pops up on a web search. I’m weeding through and sharing the ones that I think are exceptional, in one way or another. The ones I’d personally want to stay at or be thrilled to send one of my clients to.

So whether it’s a grand hacienda in the Mexican countryside or a boutique heritage hotel in the bustling city of Jaipur, these rose-hued hotels (and some bonus private villas) prove that pink can be chic.

Hacienda de San Antonio - Colima, Mexico

Located on a 5,000-acre working ranch, the 25-suite blush-hued Hacienda de San Antonio is meant to feel like a grand Mexican home. Sister hotel to Cuixmala, interiors here by Alix Marcaccini, in collaboration with Armand Aubery, are a work of art in their own right. Wood-burning fireplaces, vibrant hand-made rugs and collected pieces intermingle, resulting spaces that feel elevated, warm and welcoming.

The Colony Hotel - Palm Beach, Florida

The bubble gum pink Palm Beach institution dubbed “Pink Paradise” has hosted its fair share of Hollywood royalty (e.g. Sophia Loren and Frank Sinatra) since its opening in 1947. And with its 2022 room redesign by Mimi McMakin of Kemble Interiors, as well as collaborations on their residences (I previously wrote about Villa Aralia in Ode to a Hotel Stripe), The Colony Hotel is as pastel and whimsical on the inside and as it is on the outside.
